About Us

Artevaggio is an independent magazine about art, design, culture and the places worth travelling for. We write about paintings, buildings, rooms, photographs, museums and hotels — and, more often, about how they work and why they were made that way.

What we publish

Our interest is in the reasoning behind beautiful things. Why tenebrism forces the eye. Why a room with perfect materials can still feel wrong. Why a concrete building that was once scheduled for demolition is now protected. We aim to leave a reader able to look at the next example for themselves.

We avoid listicles without substance, press-release travel writing, and the kind of design coverage that describes a room without explaining a single decision in it.

Our sections

  • Art & Artists — painters, sculptors, movements and the work itself
  • Interior Design — proportion, light, colour and material
  • Architecture — buildings, architects and structural ideas
  • Travel & Beautiful Destinations — places, and how to see them properly
  • Luxury Hotels — design, conversion and what actually makes a stay good
  • Museums & Exhibitions — collections, curation and display
  • Photography — photographers, technique and how to read an image
  • Culture & Lifestyle — craft, design history and the ideas around them
